====== Boxes of fruit ======

You work at a fruit factory. 

There are 3 crates in front of you. One crate contains only apples. One crate contains only oranges. The other crate contains both apples and oranges. 

And each crate is labeled. One reads "apples", one reads "oranges", and one reads "apples and oranges". 

But the labeling machine has gone crazy and is now labeling all boxes incorrectly. 

If you can only take out and look at just one of the pieces of fruit from just one of the crates, how can you label ALL of the crates correctly?

====== Boxes of instruments ======

Ten band members have had their musical instruments placed randomly in boxes. Each band member gets five shots at opening boxes, trying to find their own instrument. (Thus, a 50% chance of each individual finding the desired instrument.) They're not allowed to communicate about what they find. If the entire band fails to find their instruments, they're all fired...and the odds of them all finding their instruments via random guessing is 1 in 1,024. But the drummer has an idea that will radically increase their odds of success. What's the big idea?
Rules:

1. Instruments have been randomly placed in 10 boxes.

2. The pictures on the boxes don't necessarily correspond to the instruments inside.

3. Each musician can open up to 5 boxes. They have to close all of the boxes they open.

4. All 10 musicians must find their own instruments.

5. The musicians can't in any way communicate to each other what they find.

====== Alien invasion ======

You are a clairvoyant member of a superhero team tasked with protecting the earth from any threats. You see an alien invasion take place one minute in the future and you see a room with a panel that would stop the alien invasion. All you have to do is push a button on the panel and victory would be yours. The problem is that the panel is protected by 9 guards as shown below and they have hostages in front of each guard.

If you have nine members (each with powers listed below), but can only use 3 of them, which three could accomplish the mission with no casualties (You have to defeat the guards fast enough that the hostages aren't killed and each member can only knock out 3 guards regardless of their ability).
Team member abilities : Flight, speed, strength, heat vision, invisibility, super breath, shape shifting, elasticity, and combat.

You are an electrician in a building and the AC needs fixing. There are 3 wires (black, white, and red) in the basement that are disconnected from the power and the same 3 are disconnected on the top floor, but have different colors (yellow, green, and blue). You have a multimeter and a tool kit full of items like resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, etc, and you want to connect the 3 wires in the basement and only make one trip to the top floor to connect the other 3 to the AC. What is the minimum number of items you can use to choose the correct wires to connect to the AC on the top floor?
