Focal L band Array for the Green Bank Telescope (FLAG)
Overview
The Focal L band Array for the Green Bank Telescope (FLAG) is the most sensitive phased array radio camera demonstrated to date. Digitally synthesized beams provide a wide field observation capability and flexibility for different observation scenarios. FLAG is available for scientific usage at L band on a scheduled basis on the GBT. The digital back end processes 150 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth, tunable from 1380-1520 MHz.
Information for FLAG Observers
FLAG is currently transitioning from expert user mode to “guided user mode.” The software is functional, but the user interface is under development. The FLAG team is available to provide training and guidance for prospective users and a modest learning curve should be expected. Please contact one of the FLAG PIs for guidance.
